Skin tone in crochet is unforgiving. Gradients across a cheek or jawline that a photograph renders in thousands of tonal values get compressed into yarn that comes in fixed colours. Sharan maps each transition stitch by stitch, alternating colourways across rows to build the illusion of a smooth fade. The red hair reads as a single colour in the album art. In yarn, it took multiple colourways to capture how the light moves through it.
